Meeting, Mingling and Parting Experiences.
TV shows are infotainment platforms. They entertain with information. (Discovery Learning)
‘From the horse’s mouth’ is sauce because we know the info is flowing from the original source which makes it firsthand information.
Not doctored, tortured or nurtured by The Ediths of this world – gossips, bloggers, journalists … and that makes it fun and suspense.
So presenters and guests meet on air basically to dispense information to their audience. And since these guests – celebs, clerics, medics on health issues, security agents on crime, socialites, politicians … are hot their world is hotcake and their fans, friends, followers see their words as cake and icing on same but then time is resource and luxury especially on air so guests have to leave but leaving is parting which is sweet bitter experience better still anticlimax.
Therefore presenters say, “… if we call you again hope you’ll oblige us …” but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will certainly invite such but a sort of buffer, pain reliever; same way two friends meet and shortly before parting one or both says, “I’ll call you!” he may not! So don’t be frustrated if that friend didn’t call you!
