Female. Science and Eyeglasses.

Bespectacled middle school teacher.

If she’s female and teaches science she commands respect; if she’s female, teaches science and bespectacled she adds ‘awe’ to the respect and finally if she’s female, teaches science, multilingual and bespectacled she becomes ‘Justina that just drop jaws from Jos to Laos’.

Learned people revere multi-linguists because they see in them diverse cultures, experiences, skills … thanks to their ability to adopt many cultures and add to their main culture.

What’s in eyeglasses that makes us add brains to the brains of the bearers and then stereotype? I guess we’d witness different answers from different people but the fact is we subconsciously match-make books with the brains of bespectacled people.
